SARAH JOYCE HACK
PERFORMANCE REVIEWS

9 to 5 at Out Front Theatre Company
"Hack brings an effervescent charm and a versatile voice to Doralee, with a self-awareness that holds the character together and makes her as compelling as she is entertaining. Whether she is plastering on a resilient smile to cope with people talking down to her or hogtying her boss with a phone cord, she makes Doralee a delight to watch."
-Luke Evans, ArtsATL
"The entire show hinges on our ability to both enjoy and sympathize with its main characters, and Hill, Denise and Hack are the shining pearls that justify the entire production. Each of them turns in a layered and vibrant performance, and their chemistry with one another is the engine that keeps the musical humming."

Bright Star at Georgia Ensemble Theatre
"Billy spends most of the show in a chaste, sweet love triangle with his hometown book merchant Margo (Sarah Joyce Hack) and vampy city gal Lucy (Meaghan Paetkau)... Paetkau and Hack are scene-stealers and add much-needed levity to a show that takes some dark turns."
-Benjamin Carr, ArtsATL
"Sarah Joyce Hack is delightful as Billy’s friend Margo."

Disney's Freaky Friday at NKU's School of the Arts
"Imagine the acting challenge: you are college student acting as a mom, acting like a teenage daughter, acting like the mom! Blair Lamb and Sarah Hack are mega talented, carry off the nuances well. Extra kudos to Sarah, as she spends more time as the teenager (in mom’s body) grappling with complicated feelings about her younger brother, Fletcher (Charlie Lindeman) especially in the touching 'After All of this and Everything.'"
-Liz Eichler, League of Cincinnati Theatres
"Everyone on stage, at any given moment, was completely engaged from start to finish. The two leads (Sarah Hack as mother Katherine and Blair Lamb as daughter Ellie) convincingly portrayed the body swap in the performances and impressed vocally, especially with their second act solo numbers."
-Rob Bucher, Behind the Curtain Cincinnati
"...the two dynamic leading women who carry the bulk of the comedic weight and the heavy lifting in Kitt and Yorkey’s (Next To Normal, If/Then) score. Blair Lamb and Sarah Hack are essentially playing two roles and do so with remarkable character shift. 'After All Of This and Everything' and 'No More Fear' are highlights."

Cabaret at NKU's School of the Arts
"Sarah Hack and Matthew Nassida were touching in their portrayal as the elderly Fraulein Schneider and Herr Schultz."
-Hilly Kenkel, ArtsWave Guide
"Hack’s Schneider is so believable as an older woman until Hack steps out of the main area, sheds the dress, and goes back to being a dancer. Her chemistry with Nassida’s Schultz when they sing “Married” is truly touching."
-Jack Crumley, League of Cincinnati Theatres
"Finally, Sarah Hack and Matthew Nassida as Frau Schneider and Herr Schultz pulled off what I think was an interesting choice by director Robertson. As the two elders in the story, they never changed out of their decadent Kit Kat Club attire for these roles. Instead, by donning a few costume pieces, they adopted some older person characteristics (a little slumped over or a slightly higher-pitched voice) to become Schneider and Schultz... when seen in the context of the entirety of this production's vision, it was a consistent choice and they pulled it off beautifully."
